EarthSculptor was written from scratch in OpenGL, using a T-Strip Lod algorithm that renders large scale terrains efficiently, supporting geo-morphing, decals, fast collision detection and lighting. The terrain can be tiled (as it always retains symmetry), iterated multiple times efficiently and can be deformed in real time. The engine features a suite of terrain editing functions and operations and a quickly customizable UI. The source can be used by itself as the basis for a new editor or separated with its pieces implemented into an existing project.
